4507R Sup V redundant trunk question

A few years ago I installed a bunch of 4507R's with dual Sup V's. I remember that there was a limitation on the number of uplinks I could use on the Sup cards themselves. Basically I couldn't have all 4 Gig ports on the Sup as trunks and if I wanted redundant trunks I used ports G1/1 and G2/1. I don't remember if this was a hardware restriction or a limitation of the IOS. Does anyone know if this is still accurate? I can't seem to find the documentation I had back then. I'm beginning to doubt my memory LOL!

Hello,

I guess you are referring to the second point mentioned in the "Guidelines and Restrictions" section:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst4500/12.2/20ew/configuration/guide/RPR.html#wp1097897

As an FYI - please be aware of the restriction in using !Gig and 10Gig uplink ports.
