I have a 4510 switch and have WS-X4248-RJ45V modules in slots 3 - 9. When I try to insert the same kind of module in slot 10, I get a module not supported error. Is this card actually not supported in slot 10 or am I missing something. By the way, I am running 12.2(25)EWA2. Here's the error: %C4K_CHASSIS-3-LINECARDNOTVALIDINSLOT: Module (Field Replaceable Unit minor type 343) is not supported in slot 10

Thanks. This helps a lot. Can you lead me to any documentation about what is supported? How many ports? That kind of thing?
Thanks,
Do you have a supervisor V in the chassis ? If so have a look at this doc - Table 1 and read the footnote under the table -

It does not look like this module is supported in slot 10 due to the insufficient number of backplane ports in this slot.

Yep. That pretty much is the issue. Thanks for the quick response.
