Can I do something like this to my 6509

interface Vlan99

ip address 192.168.99.100 255.255.255.0

ip address 192.168.99.1 255.255.255.0 secondary

long story short, have about 100 serves that are using 99.1 as their default gateway and several others using 99.100 as their dfgw.

6509 has Sup720 running native mode.

thanks

Hi

Well i just tested this on a 6500 run 12.2(18)SXF6 and it didn't complain and i could ping both addresses.

interface Vlan322

ip address 192.168.99.1 255.255.255.0 secondary

ip address 192.168.99.100 255.255.255.0

no ip redirects

end

Bear in mind this was in a lab environment, i have never done this in a production environment.

thanks. I remember seeing something in release notes long time ago about 6500 code support HSRP on secondary IP's.

Gee wish I had a 6500 in my lab. :)

No problem.

Yes, i appreciate i am lucky to have a 6500 to play with !
