Hi
I have a cisco 6503 - e series switch which runs c6sup22-psv-mz.121-26.E4.bin. Both superviser engine and MSFC2 card run the same IOS image i guess. In my boot flash their is another image c6msfc2-jsv-mz.121-4.E1.
Can some one please tell me about the purpose of the image? and also what is the difference between these images c6msfc2-jsv-mz.121-4.E1 and
c6msfc-boot-mz.121-4.E1.
I would need your help freinds, ASAP.
Thank you and best regards

Are c6msfc2-jsv-mz.121-4.E1 and c6msfc-boot-mz.121-4.E1 both boot loader images for RP ?T
That is correct. In the IOS name above "msfc" is your router or RP and that is the image for it.
The other image with su22 name is for your SP.

Hi,
This
c6msfc-boot-mz.121-4.E1
is your RP (route processor=MSFC) image
this:
c6msfc2-jsv-mz.121-4.E1
is your SP (switch processor) image
You need both images to boot the RP and the SP.
starting with the new Sup-2T, there is only one image and not two

Hi,
i'm really greate full for your reply, In above mentioned 6503 - e switch i have only c6msfc2-jsv-mz.121-4E1. And as per the above mention link both images are for RP. In my switch i have this
c6sup22-psv-mz.121-26.E4.bin image is also there and i guess that image is for both SP and RP.
Are c6msfc2-jsv-mz.121-4.E1 and c6msfc-boot-mz.121-4.E1 both boot loader images for RP ?T
