Can VSS be configured and achieved with single SUP in each switch ?

Sure - just make sure that SUP supports VSS.

yes it supports , Virtual Switching Supervisor 720-10GE (VS-S720-10GE-3C and VS-S720-10GE-3CXL)

As the other posters have noted, yes it can, if fact I believe historically multiple sups, in same chassis, VSS came in a later IOS version.
As the other posters have also noted, you need a VSS capable sup, either the VS-S720 or the sup2T. You also need an IOS vesion that supports VSS. Lastly, VSS imposes some additional restrictions on what line cards are also supported.

Hello Guys,
I am using two 6504E switches and want to configure VSS but i have some confusions. I am following cisco Documentation.
And got stuck on this command.
Step 4 Switch-1(config)# router routing_protocol processID
In my case, right now both switches are configured standalone, connected with each other. Switch one is using the static route towards firewall.
Please advice what to write on this command.
