7204 VXR cannot get full duplex to work

Hello,

I have a 7206VXR with an NPE400 and a PA-FE-TX card. No matter what I try I cannot get either 100Mb interface to connect at full duplex. There is no speed option available, but the option for full or half is there. It is set to full, and I have tried auto/100F on the switch. Even tried to switches, a smart and dumb one. The smart was set to auto, then 100F, the dumb one just tried to auto negotiate. Regardless of what I try, they always show 100H. Also, it shows 100F on the show int, but does not show it on the switches.

Any ideas?

That PA module does not have auto-sensing features. You must set the duplex to full in the router and 100/Full Duplex in the switch.

What's the result from doing this recommendation?

__

Edison.

That has been done.

The switches (three that we have tried) show 100-Half Duplex.

How the switches are showing half-duplex if you set the duplex manually?

__

Edison.

One switch is auto, no manual setting. The others allow me to set manually. When I do, I get no link light at 100-Full. If I move to auto, it negotiates at 100-Half.

We have another 7206VXR with a new NPE, that works fine.
