The IOS you are using is corrupt or incomplete.  Look at the file size.

Download the IOS again from the Cisco website and compare the MD5 hash value before transfering the IOS across to the router.

Did you re-download the IOS from the Cisco website?

Did you check the MD5 hash value of the BIN file before you uploaded the file to the router?

I have formatted the flash and router booted as normal but after implementing the router and wireless ap settings I reboot the router the image is corrupt again. I did that three times but once router reboots it goes into rommon mode because the ios image is corrupt again. i have other files on flash but they do not seem to be getting corrupt its just the ios image only

please advise if you have any soltution to that

I bought this router off ebay for home use and it worked fine at first but i deleted a file from flash ( I cannot remember).  have copied the IOS from router on my USB flash and checked the MD5 when uploaded to it back to router which was same as on flash drive and router booted from flash after copying IOS but when i load the config save them to NVRAM and reload it again corrupts the ios and goes into rommon mode.

I tried looking for the ios for thsi particular model but i cannot found this router support for cisco website its exact model is SRST887VDSL2 with voice and wireless N ap and system PID C887VSRSTW-GNA-K9

i got the ios from cisco site and mached the MD5 hash but when i boot it loads the ios and gives error message wrong ios for the router:

boot usbflash0: c800-universalk9-mz.SPA.154-1.T1.bin

program load complete, entry point: 0x80020000, size: 0x46d40

Wrong IOS image for the router

This is the reason why.

I think you've downloaded the wrong file:

boot usbflash0: c800-universalk9-mz.SPA.154-1.T1.bin

Look below:

boot: cannot load "flash:c880voice-universalk9-mz.153-3.M.bin"

This is the filename you should be downloading.
