9200L Switch Stack - Replace Active (master) chassis

We have 2 9200L switch stack.  The Active member needs to be replaced.  Current setup below:

Switch/Stack Mac Address : 341b.2de8.de80 - Local Mac Address
Mac persistency wait time: Indefinite
H/W Current
Switch# Role Mac Address Priority Version State
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*1 Active 341b.2de8.de80 15 V02 Ready
2 Standby 341b.2de8.e180 1 V02 Ready

I have the new 9200L Chassis and have upgraded it to the same IOS-XE and set the Priority to 15 (since it has higher MAC)

Switch#sh switch
Switch/Stack Mac Address : 748f.c28f.e980 - Local Mac Address
Mac persistency wait time: Indefinite
H/W Current
Switch# Role Mac Address Priority Version State
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*1 Active 748f.c28f.e980 15 V02 Ready

I have not put any other config in the replacement 9200L.   So curious how the config will get applied to the replacement 9200L which will become the Active (master) based on being set to Priority 15.  Is the process as simple as below?

1) Power down the defective 9200L

2) Disconnect the stacking cables and port connections

3) install the New 9200L (powered off), connect the Stacking Cables

4) Power up the New 9200L switch

5) connect the port connections

I understand that the 2nd 9200L Chassis will become the Active member.  It just does not seem that it can be that simple to replace the Active chassis with a new, unconfigured chassis that has the Priority set to become the Active member and the configuration will magically be installed off the 2nd Chassis.

TIA - Perry

as you mentioned same IOS code  / Switch numnber / Priority thats all you need.

Power down old Active one - Secondary become Active.

Remove the old switch - re-rack new switch - connect all cables as you have done before

Turn on the device, and connect console cable on Active (current ) one check the logs - the switch should able to join the stack and stay as standby

The config will all sync from master switch. ( merans old standby now as master now)

the role can not be changed - if you like roles to be change you need to reload whole stack.

Thanks.   Just want to be clear that the when the 2nd 9200L becomes the Active member it will stay the Active member even after the new 9200L is powered up and has Priority 15 assigned?   I think its true -- the only way the new Switch becoms Active is when the entire Stack is reloaded.
