My network consists of cisco catalyst 3850 24 port switches used as the routers between my sites. I am out of 3850s and need to add a new site. i do have some 9300 switches.

My question is can i add the 9300 switch into my network as a router without causing issues?

Thank you all in advance for your help.

If you use 3850 not 3850 -xs then you can use 9300 instead

   - I guess not , if you don't make any routing conflicts which could for instance best be centralized :
     Ref : https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-9300-series-switches/nb-06-cat9300-ser-data-sheet-cte-en.html
Check Table 8. for related performance data

Hello @Joey Sams

You need basic routing functionalities ?

Which licence have you got on C9300 ?

Best regards

9300 is simply a newer version of 3850 with expanded feature sets. As long as you have the proper license, you may do the same thing with the 9300 that you would with the 3850.
