A Metro Ethernet connecting to my core 6509's

What is the best way to ensure the best redundancy for: a fiber handoff of a metro ethernet link that needs to connect 2 sites, the will be terminated at dual 6509's sup720 switches at both locations, since it is a single hand off that needs to connect to a single device and I have 2 6509's, how can I ensure better redundancy for this setup? a L3 switch between the MUX and the 6509's? any other ideas?

Amit, to put it in simple words, the carrier gives me a single hand off for a 150MB metro ethernet link, obviously I need to connect it to one of my 6500's since I can't split it, but if the 6509 goes down then there is no redundancy, do I have any options?
