Hi All,

We have 1 x 3750X 48 ports with dual PS installed in our Recording Studio  and recently users are complaining that it is quite noisy!!!

We checked the hardware and found nothing wrong with it:

FAN PS-2 is OK
TEMPERATURE is OK

It could be the model of the switch/getting old etc  - could someone recommend a similar model switch but maybe "more quieter" in a recording studio environment please.

Much appreciated.

Thanks

I don't recall (?) any of the 2960 series being fanless, and it's generally the fans that make almost all the noise.

Prabath suggestion might be about the best you can do within the Cisco line up as its features should be similar to your 3750X. However, if you only are using few features, something in Cisco's SMB line might be fanless too.

The alternative is using some kind of "sound box" around your existing 3750 to contain its noise, but you also need to still provide for cooling air flow.

There is this  fanless compact series switches. We have few and pretty quiet compared to the other enterprise-grade ones. They still make a very light inverter noise if you stand close to it. However, they may or may not meet your port density and POE requirement.

What about the 2960 ? - not sure if they are still in production.
Thanks

We have to go the hard way by relocate the switch to a different room and run new cablings.
Thank you all for your help.
