About simplex, half-duplex and full-duplex wiring

Hi guys,

Because simplex can run in only one direction it needs only 1 wire.

Does it use coaxial cable for example ?

Because half - duplex can run in both directions but not at the same time it requires 2 wires.

If it is not used at the same time, why not 1 wire also ?

Full - duplex runs in both directions at the same time.

Why then it uses 4 wires instead of 2 ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Vasile,

An example for simplex is your keyboard cable which has only uni directional coverage... its only sends but recieved nothing....

For your half duplex query... Your communication happens in such a way that tranciver and reciever... transciveing cannot be used for recieving @ the same end. Eg... A to B communication through half-duplex.... A trancives and B recieves.... Again B cannot transcive back @ the received end.... Eg is Wireless Walkie talkie....

For full duplex always it uses the pairs of cables for each end... even now it uses 2 pairs for transcieving and 2 pairs for receiving which will be like a backup..... Eg: mobile, telephone and many other modern communications....

Please do rate if the given information helps.
