Adding to a Cisoe Cat9330 stack to provide 10Gb copper connections.

Hello all

I have 2 stacks of 2 C9300-48T-E switches.

We need to add extra 10GB copper connection using the SPF-10BaseG-T.

Which switch can I add to the stack to enable this?

Thanks

Glenn

That will depend if the optic is Cisco-branded or 3rd party optics.

As long as the SFP-10G-T-X is plugged into an SFP+ port, any 3rd party optics will work in all (switch) models and in all firmware version because the optics can be re-flashed to circumvent the firmware restrictions.   The most common method is to re-flash the SFP-10G-T-X optic as SFP-10G-SR and this will enable the switch to power up the port.

Hi, thanks.. we have Cisco SFPs that's not the issue. I'm looking for which switch model I can add to the current stack of 2 C9300-48T-E that will provide at least 8 10GB ports? this model only has 4 which are already in use. would a C9300X-24HX-E work with the current switches as part of the stack?

Again, it depends on the Network Module installed on the switch.  C9300-NM-8X, for example, is an 8-port network module that is compatible to all plain 9300.  Each port can support SFP or SFP+ optics.
