for RIP ver.1 & 2 it is 120,IGRP - 100, EIGRP 90 & OSPF 110.

Hi ,

Suppose the next hop to default route is the exit interface then administrative distance is 0.

Ex:

RTR A (S0) ----------------------(S1)RTR B

192.168.1.0/32

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.1(RTR A S0 ip address)

If the next hop to default route is the other end router ip then administarive distance is 1.

Ex:

RTR A (S0) ----------------------(S1)RTR B

192.168.1.0/32

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.2 (RTR B S1 ip address)

Hi, It depends on how you defined default route on device. If u define gateway as IP of next hope device in default route then AD will be one & if u define interface like serial 0/1 or fa0/1 or Dialer 0 then AD wud be 0 becaz these r directly connected interfaces. basically AD is define the preferences of route.
