archive download-sw & verify

Does the archive download-sw perform a verify with md5 of the .bin file? Or should I do a verify /md5 on the bin file afterwords?

Hi George,

I never read anywhere whether it verify md5 automatically or not.

But i can guess, download-sw CANNOT verify md5 by itself. You must have to do verify md5 manually using verify /md5 command.

Thank you. That is what I figured, but was hoping for a definate answer from Cisco.

Hi,

Below is a sample output of the use of the archive download-sw command.

++ During the installation process, it simply extracts the image to each devices

flash, sets the bootvariable automatically.

++ And verify /md5 action will not be performed during this activity.

++ If you want to verify the image before installing, then you need to copy the

image to the master switch, verify the image using verify /md5

and manually extract the image in each switch.

To set the bootvariable from master to all the switches,

3750-stack(config)#boot system switch all flash:/c3750-
