Are WS-X4596 and WS-X4596-E interchangeable?

Can I use a WS-X4596 in a CAT4506-E or a WS-X4596-E in a CAT4506?

Does the E means Enhanced or High Speed FAN.

E chassis can only support E FAN tray:

But classic chassis can have both. The only exception is for classic chassis with Metro Supervisor Engine 6-E n this case classis chassis will need E FAN)

One more note - each FAN tray consist of several individual FANs - those FANs are not inter-changable between classis and E-series FAN trays.
