ARP protocol finds layer 2 (MAC) addresses from Layer 3 addresses - so I guess it's a layer 3 protocol that allows determination of addresses used at layer 2...

ARP is part of the TCP/IP suite. Which means it's really a layer 3/4 protocol. Arp is sort of an 'in-between' like ICMP; it's not really a TCP thing, it's just one of the protocols in the suite.

As mentioned, it for finding the L2/L# address association.

ARP its a L3 protocol since it request for an phisical address based on an IP address.

It works in layer 3.
