ASR-1001X 10G SPA License requirement

Hi everyone,

I have a question and I was unable to find an answer using google-fu, so I need a Cisco Master who might help me answer it.

I need one more 10G interface on my ASR-1001X router, and I know there is a SPA module for it (SPA-1X10GE-L-V2), but the question is do I need a 10G interface license (FLSA1-BIN-1X10GE) to operate it? I have enabled both built-in 10G ports when bought upgrade to support 20Gbps (it had a license to enable both built-in ports), but I'm not sure if the license comes with the module itself or if it's even required in that case?

Thanks!

Per cisco its built-in per port license. If 10G license is not activated for a port and an SFP+ is inserted, therefore 10G mode is not enabled. Interface will be in 'link down state' and system will generate a syslog warning:'SFP+ inserted at port X tengig license not in use'.
