Hello,
Just wanted to know if someone could confirm if the onboard interfaces on an ASR router (4x on ASAR1002, 6x on ASR1002-X) are fixed gigabit or are they 10/100/1000 ?
Next: I assume the interfaces on the 8port Gigabit SPA module are fixed gigabit speed ports (why otherwise sell a 10/100 8port SPA module also ?) no ?
regards,
Geert

Hi,
They are all SFP based Gig ports. So, fiber Gig ports and not 10/100/1000.
See table-8 in this link:

It seems the ex-GLC-T (copper, now SFP-GE-T) is supported.
See: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps9343/qa_c67-496324.html
Q. Which optics are supported on the native built-in Gigabit Ethernet ports of the Cisco ASR 1001, ASR 1002, and ASR 1002-X?
A. Built-in Gigabit Ethernet ports support the same optics as the Cisco 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet SPA, Version 2 (SPA-5X1GE-V2).
Q. Is auto-negotiation supported with the Cisco 5-, 8-, and 10-Port Gigabit Ethernet SPAs?
So it seems you can get 10/100/1000 speeds on both the onboard and SPA interfaces.
This is strange as this document
does not list the SFP-GE-T as valid. One of these two documents must be wrong.
