Hi,

just go to her PC and edit the host file adding an entry like this:

   0.0.0.0  www.facebook.com

127.0.0.1 www.facebook.com

here is the location of that file: c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts

Do not save it as text file ! then make it as read-only.

if you want to do this on a certain schedule then you can achieve this with a batch files(one to add the preceding entries and the other to delete them and flush the dns cache) but then it will have to not read only and with windows scheduler you can choose when to launch these 2 batch files.

Regards.

Alain

Hi,

thanks for your instruction, but i find any choice, how turn on and turn off without access to her laptop.

I try find this file on my Win7 64bit and not found.

Hi,

The location I gave you is on my Windows 7 64 bits but indeed if you have no access to the laptop it's going to be difficult to implement.

I would look at this then:http://www.opendns.com/home-solutions/parental-controls/

This device is a residential gateway, which generally is supported by your service provider. Please consult with your service provider for support. In the meantime this link might help you.
