Blocking youtube.com

Hi,

I am using 881 cisco router in my LAN network. I able to block http://wwww.youtube.com but not able to block https://www.youtube.com I have tried blocking through ACL but complete google subnet is also blocking as youtube is going through google IP subnet.

Kindly provide solution.

How are you blocking youtube now? With nbar? Can you post the config that allows you to block it?

Hi,

Class-map match-any sites

match protocol http host "*youtube.com*"

Policy may blocksites

class sites

drop

then input servicepolicy on the interface.. I am able to http like this but https only for youtube as it is going via google domain.

Hi Jeevan,

Make sure you has been checked youtube ip from nslookup.

here i found some ip that you can try to block :

173.194.38.167

173.194.38.160

173.194.38.163

173.194.38.166

173.194.38.161

173.194.38.168

173.194.38.164

173.194.38.165

173.194.38.169

173.194.38.174

173.194.38.162

Please note i am using 881 cisco router. I have tried what you said but unfortunately google domain is also blocking.Can you post exact config to guide me better.
