Good afternoon, Guys, how are you?

I tried to carry out the procedures to install the New IOS on the equipment that is rebutting and later going into Rommon mode, but it says that I don't have space for the New IOS,

with that I try to delete the old IOS coroompido but without success, could someone help me, I've seen similar cases but I can't finish the transfer . Neither via XMODEM nor via the MGMT port via TFTP  due to lack of space

At this stage based on the information - the Kit Looks like  Faulty, if you have contract raise TAC case for RMA

this could be bug :

2960X model is covered under "Cisco Enhanced Limited Lifetime Hardware Warranty".

This means you must be able to prove to the Cisco Entitlements Team that you are the end user of this appliance and was purchased from a Cisco-authorized agent.  Be prepared to furnish the purchase order, delivery receipt and official receipt.

c2960x - have USB you can book from USB with bin file and clear the space and upload the image to boot new one.

More space required you can delte below :

#delete /force /recursive flash:/c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-2.E5

#rm flash:/c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-2.E5   (if this fails)

try the below method :

dir flash:c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-2.E5   ( you see file name example c2960x-universalk9-mz.xxxxxxxxxxxx.bin)

delete flash:c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-2.E5/c2960x-universalk9-mz.xxxxxxxxxxxx.bin  ( clear the space)

Other option you do want any data from flash :

format flash: (and load the new software)

I did the format flash:  procedure to free up space

Thanks for the teaching.

I managed to put the new file via USB on the switch  with the commands below:

copy usbflash0:c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-6.E.bin flash:c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-6.E.bin

boot flash:c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-6.E.bin

Have more information taken from the Log attached.

But again he is in Rommon state:

The system has been interrupted, or encountered an error
during initialization of the flash filesystem. The following
commands will initialize the flash filesystem, and finish
loading the operating system software:

flash_init
boot

switch: flash_init

mifs[9]: Bytes used : 27495424
mifs[9]: Bytes available : 94690304
mifs[9]: mifs fsck took 31 seconds.
...done Initializing Flash.

switch: dir flash:
Directory of flash:/

2 drwx 512 <date> crashinfo_ext
6 -rwx 26537984 <date> c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-6.E.bin

Hi,

You have a lot of traceback messages in the log which usually means a hardware issue.

Error: ASIC/PHY POST failed. Cannot continue.

%Software-forced reload

 04:56:25 UTC Sat Jan 1 2000: Unexpected exception to CPUvector 2000, PC = 3ADEE8C

-Traceback= 0x3ADEE8Cz 0x35198E8z 0x35A2F20z 0x2CD8944z 0x2CD8B20z 0x2CD8C98z 0x8215ECz 0x82185Cz 0x3AE0478z 0x3ADC168z

Also, make sure you have enough space in flash, and try loading a different version of IOS. If that does not help, this is a hardware issue.

HTH

I carried out the process, but it didn't work.

I put it in the attachment.

Please confirm if the switch working older version before you upgrade ?

first Place, can you boot directly from USB with image, is that boot working as expected, before you copy and boot from flash:

boot usbflash0:c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-6.E.bin

You config still have old boot image :

Loading "flash:/c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-2.E5/c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-2.E5.bin"...

Also some ASIC errors :

Error: ASIC/PHY POST failed. Cannot continue.
