Hi.

We have virtual stack with 2x C1000-24P-4X-L running 15.2(8)E and we have a few problems with PoE on just one switch in stack:

If I connect one more AP (not Cisco) to switch 1, AP doesn't work - it is rebooting all the time, as it doesn't have enough power. We changed AP, cable, tested all cables and everything. AP needs 25W which is less than 70W left. I know we can't get exact 200W, but I think we could get 150W out of it?

If I connect AP to the second switch in stack it all works fine. For me in this case doesn't matter to which switch it is connected, but in case I have only one switch, I would like to be 100% sure that I can use 150W out of 200W available power.

The error I get in log sometimes is below. Keep in mind, on interface Gi1/0/1 there is no PoE device at all.

Dec 17 22:24:57: %ILPOWER-3-CONTROLLER_PORT_ERR: Controller port error, Interface Gi1/0/1: Power given, but Power Controller does not report Power Good

We are running software 15.2(8)E which I can't even find it on Cisco software website.

Any idea what to do, check, ask, test?

Kind regards

PS: For forum admin. I can't choose a label for Catalyst 1000 series, you might wanna add it

Upgrade the firmware and try again.

I will downgrade to recommended version that is on Cisco webpage, but in 2022, we are in "read-only" right now.
