Hi,
I have a pair of WS-C2960X-48TS-L switches and an ASR9010 router. All switches and ASR9010 router are using GLC-SX-MMD SFP.
I have connected C2960X uplink SFP to ASR9010 SFP using multi-mode Fiber, and I can observe that the link was up from ASR9010. But the link is shown as 'down/notconnect' when show the interface on C2960X.
I have tried to use the same Fiber cable to connect between two C2960X and the link was up.
Strange enough is that I could observe the Fiber power reading from C2960X even-though the interface is down when connected to ASR9010.
C2960X is running 15.0(2)EX5 IOS and ASR9010 is running IOS-XR 5.2.2
Appreciate for any thought to this issue.

All switches and ASR9010 router are using GLC-SX-MMD SFP.
GLC-SX-MMD is NOT compatible with ASR 9K. SFP-GE-S is required for ASR 9K for multi-mode. Go HERE and refer to Table 5

Hi Leo,
I'm not sure if I'm missing something, based on the document which you'd provided, GLC-SX-MMD= is supported on ASR9000 series.

Can you loop the fibre optic and see if the link goes up?

on ASR9k
try this command.
negotiation auto

I agree with Evgeniy to try
negotiation auto on ASR9k
Since it has negotition turned off by default. Check using
sh controller <int>
It will show hardware negotiation on/off. If config change on ASR is not possible for you, turn off negotiation on 2960
speed nonegotiate
Hope this helps
