Hi,

Have anybody experienced the same, unusual behavior ?:

when I press 'ctrl + z' from the global config mode, the switch reboots;

I'm not sure if it has something to do with my console or is it an IOS bug ?

Switch: WS-C3750-24PS-S

IOS: C3750-IPBASEK9-M, version  12.2(50)SE

Console: GNOME terminal 2.30.1

System: Fedora 13

Regards

Pawel

I'll have a look for a bug. In the meantime check nobody is having a laugh and programmed a command alias.

Check your running config for commands beginning...alias

I'll let you know about the bug...

Regards,

Ian

no, it is not the alias, i've checked that already;

It never happens on any other switches - 35xx or 29xx series - only on the 3750 with this specific IOS; and only from that console :|

I searched the Cisco bug toolkit for words like "reload", "ctrl" and "control" and didn't see anything related to this error. So there are two options:

1. See if someone else has more luck (like Cisco).

2. Change the IOS version and see if it still happens.

Personally I would go for option 2.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Ian

Heh, with a few hundreds of 3750s changing an IOS is not a great perspective

Will probably switch to Xterminal instead of gnome terminal;

Thanks for your help anyway

Pawel

That was option number 3.

Luckily i had 12.2(50)SE loaded..i checked this command...didn't see any reload..may be not a generic issue

Even I have a 3750 with the same code & i don't see this behavior.

12.2(50)SE, huh?  I used this version for about 3 weeks and had to roll back to 12.2(46)SE.  Would use the rebuilds (SE1) rather than the flat version.

Hi,

The 12.2(50)SE may not be perfect, but it is the one I stuck with at the moment, so no chances to up/downgrade to anything else in the close future;

Anyway, the problem seems to be related more to the gnome terminal on my fedora, so I just switched to xterminal and all is ok now;

Thanks for all your help.

Hi Pawel,

You might run into the following software defect:

CSCsz13490 - With 50SE, SW crashes after several key strokes under int range config

http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCsz13490

This has been fixed in version 12.2(53)SE. I would recommend you to upgrade to the latest 12.2(55)SE3 and check if you're still seeing this.

Best regards,

Andras
