C3850 can't find the .bin file

Hi everyone,

When I use "dir /all" command , I can't find the .bin file

 

switch#dir /all

I though there is support to had a .bin file....

 

also use "show boot" command can't find the boot path

 

switch#show boot

Enable Break = no
Boot Mode= DEVICE

Could anybody tell me how to find the .bin file ?

Hi there,

Your switch is running in INSTALL mode. Near the bottom of the output from sh ver will confirm this.

This means the .bin file has been unpacked (and deleted). What you are left with are several .pkg files referenced in the boot file packages.conf .

 

Running in INSTALL mode is the preferred method.

Just to add to Seb’s response which explains the whereabouts of the .bin file.

The way that the file is deleted is either automatically as part of the install operation command or manually.

The .bin file has been deleted. so I can't get the .bin file ? I wanted to get the .bin file from tftp and upload to another switch , What am I supported to do ?
