C6800-16P10G Line Card on WS-C6509-E

We  have a Catalyst 6509 ( WS-6509-E) with WS-SUP720-3B supervisor engine. I want to know if C6800-16P10G is supported on this chassis.

Could someone please able to help to confirm.

The chassis yes but the supervisor no -

Yes, that would work with your supervisor.

There is a 16 port module as well but obviously there would be more oversubscription which you may not want.

You also need to check software needed, enough power etc.

Can't say for sure as haven't done that sort of thing for a while.

Just a last query here, does WS-X4712-SFP+E supports  SFP-10G-SR=  ?

The module supports both 10Gig SR and 10Gig LR.  So, it all depends on the SFP+ (MM or SM) you put in there.
