Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows if the C9300-48S SFP switch will stack with the other models of the 9300 family that are not the fixed uplink versions. I remember that the 3850 48 port SFP switch did not have stack ports on the back, so I was wondering if this was changed with the 9300s.

Hi Reza,
You can have a stack of mixed Cat9300-48P-A & Cat9300-48S-A switches, the Cat9300-48S-A switch is not a 9300L model. The issue i had was the 9300-48S-A were in BUNDLE mode out of the box & the 9300P-A switch was in INSTALL mode...
Switch Ports Model SW Version SW Image Mode
------ ----- ----- ---------- ---------- ----
* 1 65 C9300-48S 16.12.02 CAT9K_IOSXE BUNDLE
So when the 9300-48S-A switches were reconfigured to be in INSTALL mode, then stack was bulit succesfully.
Switch Ports Model SW Version SW Image Mode
------ ----- ----- ---------- ---------- ----
* 1 65 C9300-48P 16.12.02 CAT9K_IOSXE INSTALL
2 65 C9300-48S 16.12.2 CAT9K_IOSXE INSTALL
3 65 C9300-48S 16.12.2 CAT9K_IOSXE INSTALL
Although the SW versions are shown as slightly different, they are all using the same image.
