can a router forward multicast packet ? or does router broadcast multicast packet it receives.?
Example, In OSPF, each OSPF router, sends update/hello packet to multicast address, after other router receives it accept that packet and update the information in its database, after that what happens to that multicast packet ? doesn't it forward,?
Topology.
R1(OSPF)-------------R2(OSPF)----------R3(OSPF)
In the above topology, when R1 sends update to R2, R2 will receives update packet and update its database, I know till that place, then later what happens,
1. does R2 forwards that R1's update packet to R3 or
2 . R2 will create new update packet and send it to R3 ? Please answer me.
