It appears that there is a problem with NVRAM on this router. When the router is starting to boot it wants to examine NVRAM and find a config file to see if there are any boot system commands. The first error I see looks like this is what it is trying to do and since it can not find a local config file it is attempting to find a config file via tftp on the network. It looks like it then does a program load and then looks again for a configuration file on the network.

You do not include in your post what happens after the tftp errors, but I assume that it gives you the prompt about entering the startup dialogue.

After the router completes its boot, can you get into enable mode? If so please post the output from the command dir nvram: .

Have you attempted to create a small config (interface addresses and no shut) and saving it to startup-config?

i am new to cisco but i have a 1700 router and sometimes i get the same error myself. i found the document that says turn off service config messages this then allows you to reload a configuration manually. i think it is at http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/63/serviceconfig-error-msgs.pdf

Hi

Once the router is turned on,it tries to find the config file from the network. As there is no config on the router. So best solution is once you reach the router> prompt. You should use the command erase startup-config.After this configure the router again properly. And then save the config of the router.I guess you will not get the same errors again.

Was your problem solved or not?

you can turn off the error message by putting this command: "no service config"
