Hello,
I hope some you has an idea for me.
I have an simple setup of my devices:
Over a redundante WAN connection I have a link to a 2901 router.
The IP address on the LAN interface is 172.18.213.190/255.255.255.192
Behind I have an IE3000 switch (15.2(1)EY) with a direct connected IP Phone.
The switch has configured VLAN 10:

Vlan10 is up, line protocol is up
Hardware is EtherSVI, address is 580a.205c.b141 (bia 580a.205c.b141)
Internet address is 172.18.213.138/26

VLAN Name Status Ports
---- -------------------------------- --------- -------------------------------
1 default active Gi1/2
10 VLAN0010 active Fa1/1, Fa1/2, Fa1/3, Fa1/4, Fa1/5, Fa1/6, Fa1/7, Fa1/8, Fa2/1, Fa2/2, Fa2/3, Fa2/4, Fa2/5, Fa2/6, Fa2/7, Fa2/8, Gi1/1

1002 fddi-default act/unsup
1003 trcrf-default act/unsup
1004 fddinet-default act/unsup
1005 trbrf-default act/unsup

All ports are in the same VLAN, also the IP Phone, with the IP address 172.18.213.161/26.

BUT I am not able to ping the phone.
The settings of the phone are:

IP4Settings:

DHCP: disabled

DNS Server 1: None
Alternate TFTP: No

TFTP Server 1: 172.18.212.1

TFTP Server 2: None

I can see the phone via cdp neigbors:

do you have ip default-gateway on switch?

do you able to ping phone from router?

is the switch port where phone connected is up?

the switch has a default gateway
I am not able to ping the phone from the router,
but I can see it in my arp table!?!

The port on the switch is up:

But no answer.

The default-gateway is set, it is just layer 2, so a ping from the switch to the phone should be able

Hi Pawan,

What model is your IP phone?

Please assign Vlan 10 on your IP Phone....

thanks

Hey,
my model is a 7821.
The VLAN is empty, but I can´t set it at the Phone!?

I have never before configured any VLAN in the IP Phone
and my Switchports are everytime Access ports with assigned VLANs.

So, how should I set a VLAN ID on the phone?

I know the functionality only in combination with a connected PC on the IP phone1

Hey,

you can set it on the phone. otherwise you have to tag it on the port.

it would allow your phones to communicate with the rest of the device on VLAN 10.

I have no separat Voice Vlan, because it is only a small network with some automation devices and two IP phones.
The switch model is a IE-3000-8TC, plus IEM-3000-4PC expansion module

Hi,

I have met with a similar situation to yours.

The problem was that the IP phone MAC address was statically bound to another port.

After clearing that , everything worked fine.

Commands:

Show MAC address-table | include [Phone MAC]
