Hi team,

Can WS-4506E support WS-X45-SUP6L-E? Also it is unable to load any other IOS except cat4500e-lanbase-mz.122-53.SG10.bin, I am trying to load the enterprise pack but it is not successful, am I missing something?

Thank you very much.

Yes it can support it as your link shows.

What is the exact problem you are facing with the new IOS ie. do you still have the current image as well as the new one in flash ?

If so your configuration register is set to 0x2101 which tells the switch to boot the first image it finds in flash which will be the one you are currently using.

So you would need to tell the switch to use the new image.

If the above is correct can you post a "sh bootvar" from the switch.

Jon

Hi Jon,

Thanks a lot for your advice.

I was trying to upgrade the IOS to see if it can support the module, yes you are right, I change the config-register to 0x2102 and it boots the enterprise version.

However, the switch is still unable to support the WS-X4612-SFP-E module. I am using cat4500e-entservices-mz.122-53.SG10.bin.
