The only way I can connect anymore is via console. I thought I had left all the SSH config the same except for changing the passwords to secrets. Please help!

Firstly, I would sanitize that config and re-upload it. As this contains your passwords and is publicly viewable on the internet....!

The SSH config looks okay. Have you regenerated the RSA keys? I have seen this be an issue in the past.

Are you getting a specific error when you try to connect via SSH? This may be an SSH client error you are getting rather than a problem with the switch.

Thanks AvidPontoon. Ooops!

I'll try regenerating the key on one.

I'm getting:

"Network error: Connection Timed Out"

From the error "Network error: Connection Timed Out", it sounds like a connectivity issue too. See the results of what @balaji.bandi has asked as you may have a problem with connectivity between your management station and the switch.

First thing from switch console are you able to ping default-gateway ? 192.168.1.1

Then we can proceed to next step.

If not we need investigate this.

BB,

Yes, I can ping the gateway from the switch, but I cannot ping the switch from my PC...

Where is this PC connected ? from PC are you able to Ping 192.168.1.1 ?  ( what is this device 192.168.1.1 ?)

try traceroute from PC or  switch to reach each other that give information, where it was stuck (and post the output ?)

PC

tracert  192.168.1.10

from switch

traceroute 192.168.0.30

BB,

192.168.1.1 is the gateway router. The PC and switch should both be on VLAN1. I can ping 192.168.1.1 from my PC which won't SSH to the switch.

Thanks

i am looking this information :

What Router is this ?

Where is this PC connected ?

PC

tracert 192.168.1.10

from switch

traceroute 192.168.0.30

BB,

The router is a SOHO Routerboard router, not a Cisco.

The PC is connected directly to the switch.

I tried a traceroute from the switch to 192.168.0.30, but gave up and cancelled it after 12 hops.

The switch pings 192.168.0.30 immediately with no problems.

Looks something not good as per the config ?

Lets do some basic testings  here :

change the PC IP address from 192.168.0.30 to 192.168.1.11 (if nothing used, and setup gateway 192.,168.1.10 )

From Pc you should be able to ping 192.168.1.10  - if yes try SSH and let us know.
