Hello,
Is it possible to implement LLQ(QoS) on ethernet modules in the Cat 6500?
For this feature, I can only find documentation about ES+ modules or SPA/SIP modules!
(according to the feature navigator LLQ is supporten on the concerning HW and SW image)
Best regards,
Ron

Hello Ron,
on ethernet modules you can use the hardware based L2 queues. In some cases one of them can be a priority queue.
see
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12.2SX/configuration/guide/qos.html
To see the queue structure of an egress LAN port, enter the show queueing interface {ethernet | fastethernet | gigabitethernet | tengigabitethernet} slot/port | include type command.
1p2q2t indicates the following:
–One strict-priority queue
–Two standard queues, each with two configurable WRED-drop thresholds
You cannot use these queues directly from modular QoS (policy map, class-maps) with service policy but you go through PFC QoS and traffic is associated to one of the L2 HW queues depending on the internal DSCP mapping of the packet that is then converted in a CoS To output queue mappings.
Incoming traffic on the device has to be marked or trusted and in this way is assigned an internal DSCP marking. On output port a mapping of DSCP to CoS and then a mapping of CoS bits to queues is configured.
In this way some traffic may be sent out the priority queue.
You should read the whole chapter referenced above.
Hope to help
Giuseppe

Most "LAN" 6500 linecards do not support router type LLQ but many of these cards do support PQ on one of the hardware egress queues (i.e. those with a 1PxQyT architecture).
