Cat9300/9500 and MVR (Multicast VLAN Registration)

Hi Guys,

Is Cat9300 supports MVR feature?

Is Cat9500 supports MVR feature?

(MVR stands for Multicast VLAN Registration.)

I read many documents about 9300 and 9500 but didn't found any reassuring answer about that. (For example, for the 4500-X, I found the MVR setup in the configuration guide, however I don't see it for the 9300/9500 series in the guides.)

It's really important to know.

Thanks!

Yes, could you send it please?

I should find an optical aggregator L2/L3 switch with:

  • at least 24 1G ports and at least 4 10G ports
  • L3 features (exactly ipv4 unicast routing, OSPF, BGP, HSRP)
  • VRF / VRF Lite support
  • MVR support
  • L2 trace route support
  • The additional requirements are not interesting, any cisco switch supports them. (LACP, TACACS/RADIUS support etc.)

As I saw 4500-X and 6500 supports MVR, but that products are not orderable. (They went to end-of-sale at last october)

Could you give me the URL of the document, which states it is not supported, please?

unfortunately, I don't have it in hand, worth looking at the feature matrix or latest release notes of the respected product
