Hi all,

I need to increase the default port cost for a 10g port on a cat9300 switch.

how is this achieved? I’d need to do it for all but one vlan across the port.

i am still not sure what you trying to achieve here, you need to elaborate your goal and where did you stuck ?

The default port cost is defined by the speed at which the port operates.
10 Gbps Ethernet ports have a port cost of 2,
1 Gbps Ethernet ports have a port cost of 4,
100 Mbps Fast Ethernet ports have a port cost of 19,
and 10 Mbps Ethernet ports have a port cost of 100.

enter the spanning-tree cost value command in interface configuration mode. The value can be between 1 and 200,000,000.

I need to increase the default port cost for a 10g port on a cat9300 switch.  - Explain more, the cost automatically calculated based on the interface (is this OSPF ?)

Not sure - is this a Physical port or an SVI VLAN interface?

if SVI VLAN interface

use bandwidth command.

Hi these are tengig physical ports on a 9300. Thanks for replying

No, it’s Rstp. I’m in the situation where priority alone can’t do this.
