CAT9400 IOS

We just got Catalyst 9400 switch chasi and I am currently trying to find the best compatible IOS for the switch. Any advised as how to pick the best IOS ?

1. Read the Release Notes carefully.
2. Pick a version with the "largest" last digit.

IMPORTANT: Don't forget to do the Software Maintenance Update (SMU).

What shall I focus on when reading the Release notes? as there are lots of information there.

Currently, this is the only version available on Cisco's site

cat9k_iosxe.16.09.01.SPA.bin

As for what you should focus on when reading the release notes, look at the resolve and caveats sections for bug fixes and feature sets. Of course, this being the first version, you may not see many bug fixes and caveats.
