Hi Experts, I have a home switch Catalyst 2960 for my home lab. I'm using this switch since 2014 July, everything was working fine, suddenly, since yesterday, it started creating problem. Using this switch, now I am not able to connect outside anywhere. I've pasted the running-config and flash details, can anybody, please help me out on this issue??

Can you ping your default gateway ? where does traffic stop when you run a trace from your pc

No Mark, I cannot ping to the switch on its vlan 1 and also cannot ping from the switch (after logging in using console) to the default-gateway.

Just so i have this right vlan 1 is up/up and even when you are consoled in it still will not ping the local vlan 1 ip address.

Are you getting anything in the show logs ? I presume you have connected directly to the router and have no issues with that reaching the internet just to completely isolate the switch as the issue

Option to reset the switch

http://notthenetwork.me/blog/2013/05/28/reset-a-cisco-2960-switch-to-factory-default-settings/

Yes, I have a direct connection to my router. When I connect my PC to the router, internet connection is absolutely smooth, but since yesterday, no internet connection is reaching to my PC crossing the switch. In show logs no output is present.

I guess, I have to reset it to factory default.

Before doing a full reset , make sure vlan 1 is up/up and can be pinged from the console even if the switch cant pass traffic for some reason it should be able to ping its owjn interfaces when there up

You could save the config to txt file, delete the contents of flash(leaving just the ios image)

reboot the switch and re-apply the config see if that helps , have you tried a reboot already just in case its locked up

if that does not work you could re-image it theres a safe harbour version available for that switch SE10 from February

Hi Mark, can you please give me the link from where to get the safe harbour version SE10 for this switch?

have you tried changing port on which the router is connected.

Thanks

Hitesh

Yes, Hitesh, I tried that too, but no change. I'll have to reset it today.
