Catalyst 3350 Switch

When I power up my Catalyst 3550 switch, it boots up and shows "switch:" prompt. and it takes no command afterwards. I wonder what command prompt is "switch:". Please help.

This means the switch has NO configuration in it.

You need to start from the begining - read the below:-

you are in ROMMON mode and either you dont have image or its corrupt.

That sounds like you have no IOS on the either.

Try the following:-

flash_init

load_helper

dir flash:

if there is an image in there boot from it

deja vu

if not copy one over. The complete procedure is here:
