I got a Catalyst 500 express switch and I cannot add new device on a secondary switch (tp-link non-managable). The port on CAT500 is already set to the mode 'switch'.
I tried to move to another port but no success.
The new device is 8416.f9c7.7dbd is the list below. But one thing I remark is that MAC addr is differ form sticker by 1 digit.
Sticker Mac addr is 84:16:F9:C7:7D:BC.
Each new device give I plug in Tplink switch have the same differnce.
All other devices already plug before problem begin continue to work
Can you help me.
Thanks.

Do you mean you have a secondary switch connected to a Catalyst 500, and you cannot add a device to that secondary switch ? What device are you trying to add ?

Yes secondary switch is tl-sg1024d plug on a Catalyst port set to 'switch' and all devices are customer router
In addition, If I set the port to 'desktop' and plug the new router I try to add directly on the Catalyst...it work
If I change the secondary switch for a new one...same problem
...weird

What is the brand of the router connected to the 1024D ? Is it a Cisco router ? How is the link configured ?

For now it is a Tplink router but any router I tried have same problem (tplink or dlink or my laptop)

Hello,
the 1024 switches are unmanaged switches, so there is nothing you can configure on those. Try and disable spanning tree on the Cat 500...

I saw no STP on Cat500 but I will verify to be sure monday. Thx

Hello,
to turn STP off:
Configure > VLANs > Advanced --> uncheck STP

OK Monday, all STP are unchecked. So, issue stay on
