How is licensing handled when you convert from CatOS to native IOS? I have Enterprise software on the MSFC, can I download Native IOS Enterprise feature set?

licsense is not enforced in CAT OS and native IOS for CAT6500. The license is currently enforced in www.cisco.com. If you can download enterprise software in the software download area, you are Ok. Please watch out the memory requirement. Some old SIUPs (like SUP2) do not have enough memory to run the latest native IOS image.

We are converting a Sup720-B. One of our engineers said we would only be "licensed" for IP Base and would have to buy Advanced Enterprise Services. We can't find anything on CCO documenting the licensing policy for these conversions.

You are entitled to upgrade to IP base for any IOS version if the product is under Smartnet. You are supposed to purchase a license if you want to upgrade to any feature set other than IP base. Currently, the license is not enforced in software. It will be.
For 3750E or Catalyst 4500 SUP7, you are required to install a license to enable a feature set now.
