Catalyst 6500 LSNAT

Hi Guys!

I need some help with a project in my company. Our Core switches are Enterasys N7 and we want to migrate to Catalyst 6509. We use LSNAT on the N7 to loadshare the traffic between our application servers. I know I can do that with the ACE module, but with all this rumors about it been discontinued I am worried to buy the ACE module and it became discontinued in the near future.

Is there any feature that is equivalent to LSNAT on the 6500?

thx

Hi Marcio,

Yes we do offer this capability in the 6500 with multiple
levels of performance and price. At the low end there is Cisco IOS
server load balancing, which supports multiple methods of performing
server load balancing including using NAT for what is called "directed
mode" server load balancing. At the higher end we have the more
scaleable solutions using service modules such as the ACE and CSM.

So choosing the best method depends on what the solution requirements
are.

IOS-SLB combines load sharing and NAT capabilities, as do the ACE and CSM
service modules.

Here is information about IOS-SLB with NAT  :

Thanks for the help!

Can I implement this feature on IOS 15.0 IP Service, or do I need the advanced version to run SLB?

thx
