Hi everybody,
with the config command 'show environment temp status' you get to see a "System temperature from the Switch.
the question:
at which Point of the Switch is this temperature measured? is this the processor temperature? or the power supply temp? or the System air outlet temperature?
can anybody help with this very important for us question?
hier is the Output of the above command:
System Temperature Value: 35 Degree Celsius
System Temperature State: GREEN
Yellow Threshold : 58 Degree Celsius
Red Threshold : 68 Degree Celsius

Hi,
That is not for the CPU or PSUs. It is the overall system temperature. Its how hot the box is running.
The switch may experience an abnormal increase in temperature. This increase can be confirmed by the show environment temperature command.
For example:
Switch#show environment all FAN is OK TEMPERATURE is FAULTY Temperature Value: 127 Degree Celsius Temperature State: RED Yellow Threshold : 55 Degree Celsius Red Threshold : 65 Degree Celsius POWER is OK RPS is NOT PRESENT
If the output shows red as the temperature state or the temperature value goes beyond the threshold value, then the recommended action is to prevent the switch from overheating. As a result, do not operate the switch in an area that exceeds the maximum recommended ambient temperature of 113° F (45° C).
