Hi,

we were facing the high temperature issue with Cisco 4507 (physical temperature of the DC is around 19c). Since we were running the deffered IOS on the 4500, We have upgraded the ROMMON and IOS image of the Cisco 4507 switch. We have upgraded the ROMMON IOS image to latest 15.0(1r)SG11 version and main IOS image to stable & safe harbor 03.06.03.E (cat4500e-universal.SPA.03.06.03.E.152-2.E3.bin).

The current issue of high temperature is removed on all the module expect for module 3 & 4 on XPP sensor. Please help us to resolve the issue.

I know this might sound silly! but there is nothing blocking the airflow round the chassis?

This could be due to some thing blocking the air flow to these module as Richard pointed out.

Please have a visual inspection around the chassis and ensure nothing blocks airflow. ALso ensure the emtpy slots have blank cover installed. If all these are ensured and still issue is seen, reseat the modules (I hope they are supervisors, if so reseat the standby first and check if it clears these issue, if so repeat the same for the other sup/card)
