Hello all,
I've been playing around with a Catalyst 2960S and I changed the baud rate to be able to transfer more quickly my image via serial console cable.
I set it to be above 200000 and it happened that I couldn't read anything more on the terminal window.
Now my question is: how do I recover from this misconfiguration? Is there a way to do it?
Any help will be appreciated.
Many thanks in advance!

Hi Flavio,
Two ways:
1. Quick way : if you haven't saved the config, just reload the cisco box.
2. If you have telnet enabled, login to your cisco box from another PC / Router / Switch and revert the changes.

In ROMmon, use the command "unset BAUD".
By the way, you are playing with IOS transfer via console when you have the 2960S? Why bother?

Not helpful. When baud rate is set to 230400, you positively CANNOT use CLI commands.

hi Flavio,
My collegue used "set BAUD 230400" in rommon as well. therefor the rommon is set to an unknown speed and unusable for serial access. Have you been able to solve this issue somehow? I would love to hear that!
I have tried the following values (copy from the manual), but none of them work...
The range is from 0 to 4294967295 bps. Valid values are 50, 75, 110, 150, 300, 600, 1200, 1800, 2000, 2400, 3600, 4800, 7200, 9600, 14400, 19200, 28800, 38400, 56000, 57600, 115200, and 128000.
There's no way to reset the environment vars or express setup if you dont have a booting IOS image present on flash (which is a chicken/egg problem :)).
Thanks in advance!

Hy Wouter,
AFAIR the switch got replaced with RMA.
Sorry not being able to help any further, you could try opening a TAC case tough!
