Changeing flash: from read only to read write

good day.

i have a Catalyst 3650 that i was going to delete the config file from. and for som reason it was set up previously with the wrong enable password. so i went to ROMMON to delete the config file from there, but then i noticed that flash: was in read only mode and i cant delete the file because of it. so my question is. is there a way to change it to read write, and if so, how? or is there another way i can delete the config file?

switch: delete flash:nvram_config
Are you sure you want to delete "flash:nvram_config" (y/n)?y

List of filesystems currently registered:

              xmodem[0]: (read-only)
                null[1]: (read-write)
                  bs[3]: (read-only)

Hi,

Go to ROMMON and give a try with below commands

switch: flash_init

switch: load_helper

switch: set BYPASS_STARTUP_CONFIG=1

after entering boot command  you will get the initial config dialog and do the basic configuration and save. Then reload the switch and go to ROMMON and change the variable.

set BYPASS_STARTUP_CONFIG=0

If the above command didnt works try with the below

switch: set SWITCH_IGNORE_STARTUP_CFG=1

switch: set SWITCH_IGNORE_STARTUP_CFG=0

Sorry for the almost year later reply. In hopes that any one else come here looking for why the '=' doesn't work.

Use this command first...

set SWITCH_IGNORE_STARTUP_CFG then use

set SWITCH_IGNORE_STARTUP_CFG 1

The first command adds it to the Set Directory and the second command adds the value. You may be able to get away with doing it together in the same command but I separate them for practical use.

Is dir usbflash: showing the list of files in usb, then boot from usbflash:
boot usbflash:<filename>
