Hello,

Configured Kron policy to take monthly TFTP  backup on the first day of every month  in all locations. It was working as expected. But we faced issues on December 31st for few locations.

Below are the error logs on console and lost the access  to the device because of cpu utilization.

%SYS-2-INTSCHED: 'sleep for' at level 0 -Process= "Kron Process", ipl= 0, pid= 235,  -Traceback= 0x80938990 0x800DF14C 0x817BF2B8 0x8001FE20 0x817B9CA0 0x817B3F64 0x800DBA48 0x800DD2C8

Here is the epolicy configured.

cli show run | redirect tftp://192.168.X.X /Name of the router.cfg

Also, we recreated the issue by changing the router hardware time and found the issue is occurring on December 31st, evethouh it was scheduled to run every month first.

If anyone ever faced this similar kind of issues, please let me know.

It sounds like a software bug.  What device did this happen on and what IOS version are you running.

Faced issues in multiple Cisco 1801 routers with different IOS. I have the same series device with same IOS which was not affected by this issue . Below are the IOS versions.

c180x-advipservicesk9-mz.124-15.T4.bin
c180x-advipservicesk9-mz.124-6.T8.bin
c180x-advipservicesk9-mz.150-1.M8.bin
c180x-advipservicesk9-mz.124-11.T3.bin
c180x-advipservicesk9-mz.124-11.T3.bin

You should really try and use the "gold star" releases, as they tend to have far fewer defects.  None of those versions above are gold star versions  that I can see.
