Normally indicates a software defect. See http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps1828/products_tech_note09186a00800a65d1.shtml#align

Bug tool might have it documented. If it does, believe it would note whether it's been fixed or whether there's a work around. Otherwise, you'll need to open a TAC case or perhaps try a different IOS version.

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for your response.

I saw the same site before created this post.

But unfortunately I could not understand what it mean...

Cause

Alignment errors are caused by misaligned reads and writes. For example, a two byte read where the memory address is not an even multiple of two bytes is an alignment error. Alignment errors are caused by a software bug.

Correcting Alignment Errors

Alignment errors can generally be corrected by software and, if so, will not cause a crash. Correcting alignment errors does, however, consume processor resources and can result in a performance penalty. If there are continuous alignment errors, the router can spend most of its time fixing them, increasing the CPU utilization. These errors are corrected at interrupt.

My router showing at first line in show version like...

Router uptime is 33 minutes

System returned to ROM by error - an unknown failure, PC 0x6025C7E4 at 09:37:05 UTC Thu Nov 5 2009

What could be the cause for this...

Naidu.

It means, whatever you're doing with this router might have found a "software defect" (i.e. bug).

These shouldn't normally happen. Often the solution is found in moving to a different IOS code version (often newer, sometimes older). If you have a service contract, you would also work with Cisco TAC.

Hi Joseph,

The router have new version. Please find the below show version details.

Unfortunately I have not cisco contract....I am at strange what to do to not repeat in future.

"The router have new version."

Actually it has a "newer" 12.4T release, but I just looked and didn't see any 12.4(11)T releases except 12.4(11)T1..4 under "Deferred Releases" (which normally indicates bugs so bad they've been pulled from distribution).

"Unfortunately I have not cisco contract."

That makes things more difficult. Since it appears most, if not all, of the 12.4(11)T series for an 1841 are "deferred", Cisco might provide you another release if you contact them. I believe it might also be possible to purchase another IOS image, but I'm unsure. Perhaps someone more familar with software licensing might comment.
