Cisco 2960x Downgrade problem

Hi,

Could you inform me if it is possible to downgrade from version 15.2(4)E6 to 15.2(2)E7 ?

Is it necessary to do a special manipulation ?

I tried to do it with the following commands but the Switch doesn't seem to start correctly.

• archive download-sw /overwrite /reload tftp://tftp_server_ip/file_name".

Yes, it can be done. 

Maybe the switch is doing a ROMMON downgrade?

Hi,

I tested again this week and here are the results;

I executed the following commands to transfer my firmware to the Switch:

+ Switch# archive tar /xtract TFTP://192.168.150.2/cme-full-7.1.0.0.tar flash: (Copie et décompresse l'image dans le flash)
+ Switch# verify /md5 flash:/new_copied_image_name.bin (Vérification de la nouvelle image)
+ Switch# sh run | i boot
+ Switch(config)# boot system flash:/folder/new_copied_image_name.bin (Change l'image de démarrage)
+ Switch# reload (Redémarre le Switch avec la nouvelle image)

Then the Switch does looping reboots. Here is some information about the boot:

It's possible that this switch (cisco WS-C2960X-48FPD-L) doesn't support this old version ? (c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-2.E7.bin)

I transferred a newer image again and then downgraded but I still get the looping starts..

If the switch boots into ROMMON, post the complete output to the command "dir flash:". 

Does the switch have a stacking module installed, if it does, remove it.

I'm on site tomorrow, I will take the information. But I know that I have two firmware like this : flash:/x2960x-universalk9-xxxx/x2960x-universalk9-xxxx.bin

One is working but I have to use the second (most older) for the stack.

The Switch doesn't have a stacking module at this moment.
