Hello
I have just been hired by a company, the previous employee updated some Cisco 2960x switches to the latest version and this caused the switches to lose their lanbase licenses, so the switches are not working, is there a solution to this problem?
Thank you for your help

@fbabashahi hi, try configuring the license level and reboot. command is 'license boot level lanbase' or similar.
if that is not working, try to set RTU to lanbase

@fbabashahi can you share the output for below command.
show license right-to-use summary
or you might hitting the bug https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCur56395?rfs=iqvred
try do hard reset to device as workaround to see if its gonna work.

Greetings.
Lanbase is the minimum license level. It appears that your switch has booted with no configuration. Did someone perform a pssword recovery? If you run the command “show flash” or “dir” do you see something along the lines of config.old? This is usually the default file name people rename. Some newer models of switches bypass the startup differently so you can also do “show startup”

If you want lanbase-routing, you need lanbase IOS.
Since you are in universalk9 you are in this situation.

Hello @fbabashahi
The issue with your C2960x switches losing their LAN Base licenses after an upgrade may be related to the SDM template. Use the show sdm prefer command to check the current SDM template, as it defines resource allocation and can affect switch functionality. If the template is incorrect, set it to lanbase-default or lanbase-routing (if routing is required) using the sdm prefer command, save the configuration, and reload the switch. Ensure the correct template aligns with your licensing and intended use...
